A fantastic video by Victor Wooten, a bass guitar virtuoso and personal musical hero of mine.
In it, he talks about his approach to learning and teaching music. To me, this shit needs to be required watching for all musicians. I get most, if not all of, my musical philosophy from this guy. It makes sense to me.

You know, I know several people that wouldn’t consider this “real” music. To these people, a DJ taking five or six songs and mixing them together in a coherent and creative enough way to conceive a completely original work isn’t “true musicianship.”
Dear people who think this: Press play and remove your head from your ass for about three minutes. Who knows, you might actually learn something about music.
