I just looked up a comment the director said of the final scene and Asoka was supposed to say “I feel sick” instead of “disgusted’ in a reference to morning sickness and why are they the last two people on Earth? She also has bandages and eyes like Rei and touches Shinji like Misato would.

You can’t get fucked up in a fight and have your blue eyes turn brown, though

They are still blue. It is the lighting. Everything is dark and unpleasant in that scene.

Also Rei had red eyes not brown eyes, baka.
